Juniors...if you haven't begun already now is the time to start planning for college. Start by researching colleges/universities that you are interested in. You can check out the College/Career Information page for additional information and helpful links.
Class of 2020...Juniors...This is your "one stop" for all your Michigan Merit Exam (MME) and SAT information. The MME (which includes the SAT) is a graduation requirement and will be held in early April 2019.
The Michigan Merit Exam (MME) is broken up into two parts. The first part of the examination is held over two days, April 9 and 10 for all Juniors (11th Grade students) in the state of Michigan. The second part of the examination is the M-Step which is broken up over a 4 week period. The MME is a graduation requirement of Avondale School District. Day 1 of testing is the SAT and Day 2 is the WorkKeys Test. All days of testing are combined to get a MME score. It is important to do your best on each day of testing. MME Day 1: the SAT... Most Colleges use SAT (and/or ACT) scores as one factor in considering admission. When you take the SAT as part of the MME, registration is done during school in March.
Although the ACT will not be given at school, students are still encouraged to take the ACT on their own. You will need to register for the ACT independently (ACT is given on select Saturdays at various locations). To learn more about the ACT and set up an account visit by clicking here (actstudent.org).

MME Day 2: The WorkKeys Test... WorkKeys helps ensure that individuals are ready for work—and for life. If students are going to be adequately prepared for the workforce, they need to understand the requirements for jobs they are considering. WorkKeys helps students determine the skill levels required for various jobs.
